COLOR PROJECT
Color and Design in 2D and 3D allowed me to learn how to utilize the basics of Adobe Illustrator.
This is a foundation course that allows students’ to learn the importance and how to utilize color in designs. Through this class students were able to learn the fundamentals of color and design theory, for example, unity, balance, movement, figure-ground ambiguity, and the Gestalt Grouping Principles.

This page contains a design and scale for a project completed in this class that demonstrates my knowledge and understanding of several different design principles and elements.
PERCEPTUAL
OPPOSITES
CHART
-
display ten stimulus hues next to its correlating after-image hues
-
show the perceived after-image hues for the ten different stimulus hues
-
a stimulus hue and its after-image are called perceptual opposites

CHROMA
BRIDGE
SCALE
-
steps within the scale must have had equal value contrast between each other
-
creates a successful gradation
-
-
gradation is a scale or series of successive changes
-
includes tints, shades, and tones

DESIGN
-
design is balanced, unified, has figure-ground ambiguity
-
Itten’s “fire” and “water” must be created while using these design principles
-
when perceptual opposites are touching, this creates fire
-
when they're not touching this is the water
-
-
"peg" like shapes added to visual pathways to unify design
-
balance is important otherwise there will not be figure-ground ambiguity
